Colton McAbee
Founder & Lead Consultant, Frontline Corrections Consultants
I’m Colton McAbee, and I started Frontline Corrections Consultants because I’ve seen both sides of the bars — and I know how much better things can be when the view is clear from every angle.
My background is simple but rare:
- 7 years working inside correctional facilities — hands-on in operations, security, supervision, and daily jail management
- 4 years of firsthand incarceration experience — across minimum, medium, and maximum security levels in both private and government-run institutions.
That means I understand what staff deal with every shift: the pressure, the rules, the real risks. And I know what inmates actually experience: the conditions, the routines, the frustrations. Most consultants see only one side. I’ve lived both. That dual perspective is why my audits and recommendations go deeper — they’re practical, balanced, and focused on real safety and security for everyone inside the facility.
I’m Tennessee-born and raised, and I’m proud to serve our state’s sheriffs and jail administrators. Operating from Columbia, Tennessee, I travel statewide to help local facilities prepare for inspections, catch compliance gaps early, and build safer environments without unnecessary bureaucracy or cost.
My mission is straightforward:
Help Tennessee jails pass inspections with zero deficiencies, reduce violence and liability, and create better outcomes for staff and inmates — using real-world insight from the frontline.
